In the first half, Nikola Jokic accomplished a remarkable feat in NBA history, surpassing Avery Johnson (562) to claim sole possession of 51st place on the all-time playoff assists list.
After surpassing Johnson, the next player on Jokic’s list to surpass will be Robert Horry, who has 575 assists.
The Nuggets are currently behind in the series against the Timberwolves, trailing 2-0 after suffering defeats in both games at their home court in Denver. In the most recent matchup, they lost Game 2 with a score of 126-80.
Jokic concluded the game with 16 points, 16 rebounds, eight assists, and one block, shooting 5 for 13 from the field and 0 for 1 from three-point range, during his 39 minutes on the court.
The Nuggets are the second seed in the Western Conference with a 57-25 record.
They defeated LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in the opening round, securing victory in five games.
In the previous season, Jokic guided the Nuggets to the NBA Championship triumph against Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat.
