The Tigers added a few players with immediate impact, but they were picky about who they added to the portal.
The Tigers have been making moves in the last few weeks, and Brian Kelly has been answering calls throughout the summer. This program has had a busy stretch, with the Transfer Portal and coaching hires among the highlights.
Kelly and Co. were aware of a few position groupings that need their attention. They’ve moved a few times now.
A closer look at the additions and those who could have an instant influence on the program:
WR at Mississippi State, Zavion Thomas
Before the 2024 season begins, the Tigers have an incredible weapon in the form of a proven return specialist with elite-level hands.
Thomas decided to use the NCAA Transfer Portal because he was eager for a change of scenery after spending two years in Starkville.
The Louisiana native is now a Tiger since this program gave the talented wideout and return specialist prompt attention.
During his tenure as a Commodore, Swann participated in 15 matches and commenced 12 of them. Throughout the 2023 season, he initiated all six games he played in, accumulating a total of 1,457 passing yards and 12 touchdowns, while only throwing seven interceptions.
At the commencement of the 2023 season, the 6-foot-2, 225-pounder was designated as Vanderbilt’s primary quarterback. However, an injury forced him to sit out for the rest of the season.
