Report: Marco Neppe, the technical director of Bayern Munich, has left the team.

Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sport reports that Marco Nepps, technical director of Bayern Munich, has left the team:

The agreement between FC Bayern and Marco Neppe was amicably canceled a few days ago, according to information obtained by Sky. Neppe has already emptied his Säbener Straße office.

The 37-year-old was a major factor in Harry Kane and Min-jae Kim’s transfers to FC Bayern last summer as the technical director on the German record champions’ transfer committee.

He had already completed Raphael Guerreiro and Konrad Laimer’s free transfers. Neppe is also accountable for the discoveries made by Jamal Musiala and Alphonso Davies. Alongside former sports director Hasan Salihamidzic, he also included Mathys Tel, a crowd favorite.

Neppe’s future whereabouts are unknown. Many of Bayern’s stars are still in regular communication with him. Joshua Kimmich, among others, values Neppe’s viewpoint highly. Additionally, Neppe stays cordial with Leon Goretzka. Only a few days ago, Neppe and Goretzka were sighted in the heart of Munich at a café.

Neppe began his career at Bayern Munich in 2014 and worked his way up the ranks. Neppe eventually rose to the position of chief scout and, in 2021, to technical director.
