After completing his transfer to Nottingham Forest, Anthony Elanga bid Manchester United a heartfelt farewell.
The 21-year-old made his way into the starting lineup after joining the Red Devils at the age of 11.
Elanga made 55 appearances for the team and scored four goals. He was awarded United’s young player of the year three times in 2020 and the League Cup the previous season.
He signed a five-year contract at the City Ground and joined Forest in a rumored £15 million transfer.
Elanga praised the staff, supporters, and his former teammates in an emotional Instagram farewell to Manchester United.
Making my first appearance, appearing in almost 50 first-team games, scoring in the Champions League, and taking home a title for this amazing squad,” he stated.
“I would have been ecstatic to learn that all of that would occur when I came in England at the age of eleven.
“So many players and staff members have contributed significantly to realizing my aspirations and helping me grow into the man I am today.
“I have and always will be extremely appreciative of all of you.
“I have known that United supporters are unique since I was a small child and witnessed a game from the Stretford End.
