The Georgia Bulldogs’ 2023 seaso,n came to an end last Saturday when they defeated the Florida State Seminoles by a record-breaking 60 points in the Orange Bowl game. However even though the team achieved an incredible victory, their aspirations for a third consecutive national championship were not fulfilled. 2023 will not be nearly as famous as the Bulldogs’ 21 and 22 seasons, for obvious reasons. However, this does not imply that the entire year was ineffective.

Even though Georgia didn’t win any national titles, there were still some memorable Bulldog moments throughout the season. Events like the Bulldogs’ dominating victory over top-10 Ole Miss in Sanford, Brock Bowers’ quick return to action following ankle surgery, and, of course, the team’s amazing come-from-behind victory versus Auburn on the road will live on in Georgia history for a very long time.

Despite Georgia’s lack of national title success, the season produced a number of memorable Bulldog memories. Things like Brock Bowers playing again only a few weeks after having ankle surgery, the Bulldogs destroying top-10 Ole Miss in Sanford, and of course the team’s amazing road comeback victory over Auburn will live on in Georgia history for a very long time.

However, one incident this season stands out as the turning point for the Bulldogs’ 2023 campaign. A moment that sums up exactly the kind of program Kirby Smart has established at the University of Georgia.

It has been common practice in college football’s modern era for prospective NFL Draft selections to skip bowl games in order to reduce their risk of injury and get ready for the pros. Many Bulldog players were no longer chasing a national championship, thus many expected nothing different from them.

The Georgia Bulldogs’ 2023 campaign, in all aspects, was a disappointment compared to its two previous national championship runs. Nonetheless, there were other moments this season that demonstrated Kirby Smart has created a winning culture at the University of Georgia in addition to a winning squad, which will contribute to the team’s success going forward.
