Heartbreaking is the French Bulldog’s sadness at her sister returning to college.
I recall hearing the phrase “these are the best years of your life” at least a dozen times as I started my first year of college. It wasn’t perfect, but it was an exciting period filled with self-discovery and making new friends, I’ll confess. Even while I loved living on campus with other students, I genuinely missed my family, especially my dog!
Though I could not spend as much time with my family dog virtually as I could with my human family, it was comforting to see him in photos and during video calls. I can really connect to a distraught dog mom who is searching for ways to comfort her family’s French Bulldog while he adjusts to his human sister being away. I hated to think that he might have been depressed, too.
The December 30 report from Flip’s mom was both heartwarming and depressing. Her Frenchie was already missing her since her daughter had gone to school after spending Christmas at home.
Flip, oh! The way he cuddled with his sister under the covers while she was home melts my heart, but I’m also very sad for him because he’s missing her now. She must be missing him just as much, from what I can tell!
