Report: Spurs are one of four teams interested in acquiring the midfielder from West Ham.
Four Premier League teams are reportedly preparing a move for Lucas Paqueta next summer, including Tottenham Hotspur, according to West Ham United transfer sources Claret and Hugh (as reported by TEAMtalk).
According to the report, Paqueta was on the verge of joining Manchester City in the summer after the league leaders and the Hammers worked out a deal.
But when news leaked out that the FA had launched an inquiry against the Brazilian for suspected betting rule violations, City abruptly withdrew from the agreement.
Although Moyes led West Ham to a European trophy nine months ago and the team is currently ranked eighth in the league, the Hammers’ supporters are not thrilled with him.
Last Sunday, Arsenal led 4-0 at the interval and needed two more goals to seal the victory, leaving the London Stadium nearly empty.
Although a ‘Moyes Out’ sign was visible from the away end, the reception that West Ham supporters anticipated when they arrived at the City Ground was, at best, muted.
When questioned about the banner following the match, Moyes encouraged West Ham supporters to consider the team’s three-year growth
I’m quite upset with a few of the results as well as the fact that we didn’t win tonight. But even this season, you can’t forget the successes and the positive outcomes.
“This season, we’re in a strong position; previous season, we were in the lower half. We were Nottingham Forest and battling relegation just three years ago. Since then, we’ve made significant progress.”
