Sam Lammers says he’s not sure if he’ll stay at Rangers after loaning to Utrecht.
Sam Lammers, a flop for the Rangers on loan, acknowledges that he has no idea what the future holds for him when his contract at Utrecht expires and he must return to Ibrox.
After a dismal first half of the season at Rangers, Lammers is thrilled to be back in the Eredivisie. He scored his first goal for his new team this past weekend.
With three years remaining on his Rangers contract after his loan term ends, Lammers is unsure of what will happen at the conclusion of the season. Utrecht has now gone 13 games without a loss, setting a new club record.
Additionally, he said that he was taken aback when Rangers told him he could leave on loan.
“We have not looked beyond,” he stated.
However, I hope to make an impression while I’m here.
The news that I could move on loan came as a surprise to me because it came after a stretch of extensive playing time.
“I intended to remain in Scotland for an extended period of time after agreeing to a four-year contract there.
“I also didn’t have to depart.
However, Utrecht showed interest right away and moved decisively. That influenced my decision last month.
“They demonstrated their desire for me, and the encouraging chats I had with Jordy Zuidam, the technical director, and Ron Jans, the manager, together with the assurance I sensed the team possessed, convinced me to join them.
Additionally, they understood my desire to perform weekly.
My goal is to get Utrecht into European football so they can play in a league where they belong. I wish to demonstrate the knowledge I’ve gained recently,
“There’s a huge amount of quality in our team here at Utrecht.”
