Player who was sold by Aston Villa in 2023 makes headlines with his incredible goal this season, totaling seven goals and five assists.

In September, Aston Villa made the decision to transfer Jaden Philogene to Hull City; however, that move is now beginning to backfire.

The England U21 international has been one of the most impressive players in the Championship thus far this year, and he has recently gained attention following a very impressive goal.

Philogene becomes well-known after departing from Aston Villa.
Well, this season at the MKM Stadium, the 22-year-old has been a revelation.

In 17 Championship games, Philogene has seven goals and five assists. On Tuesday night, he placed the cherry on top with a magnificent performance in the 2-1 victory over Rotherham.

Oliver Rathbone was expertly nutmegged by the Hull City No. 23 inside the area, and he then sat the defender on his backside and curled a beautiful rabona over Viktor Johansson.

Sadly, a small deflection meant that Philogene’s effort was officially ruled an own goal, but that doesn’t lessen the impact of the daring strike.

Now, it appears that Aston Villa made a grave error in permitting the Londoner, who genuinely desired to remain at Villa Park, to sign with Hull City.

Philogene can be purchased by Aston Villa.
It’s interesting to note that Aston Villa and Hull City actually worked out a buyback mechanism in the contract.

Tigers vice chairman Tan Kesler told Hull Live that if both teams are in the same division, the Villans may pay £15 million to get Philogene back to Villa Park.

As it stands, that seems like a good deal for a player who could easily fetch £30 million in talent.

Keep a watch on Philogene’s progress; if he continues to play this well, Aston Villa will undoubtedly regret selling him to Hull City, if they haven’t already.
