It appears that a 37-year-old Londoner could succeed David Moyes as West Ham United’s manager at the London Stadium.
Recently, there has been increasing talk that David Moyes, the manager of West Ham, may soon lose his job. The club’s owners are reportedly not thrilled by the large-scale walkout that occurred during halftime of our match against Arsenal at the London Stadium.
Graham Potter and other names have been mentioned as possible successors to the 60-year-old Scot, but now another name has been added to the list.
Journalist Ed Aarons of the Guardian reports that Kieran McKenna, the manager of Ipswich Town, is a candidate to succeed Moyes should the Scot be fired.
The 37-year-old gaffer, who was born in London, has been doing incredible things with the Tractor Boys this season, so it’s no surprise that East London is taking notice.
With two games remaining, McCarthy has Ipswich Town flying high in fourth place in the Championship table, just six points behind second-place Leeds. If David Moyes is fired, the 37-year-old might take over.
This season, Ipswich has played some fantastic football, and McKenna has garnered praise for his aggressive game that is swift, direct, and exciting.
It is commonly known that he allows his offensive players a great deal of creative freedom to express themselves; in this sense, he is the exact opposite of Moyes’s management approach.
Most West Ham supporters, in my opinion, are sick of Moyes’s serious approach to games at this point. Since his December 2019 comeback to the London Stadium, he has seen tremendous success.
But there’s a good case to be made that his time managing the Hammers is now at an end.
In the event that David Moyes is fired, Kieran McKenna appears to be a good choice to take over. Nevertheless, I believe that hiring him would be a significant risk given his inexperience as a Premier League manager.
