Former All-Star with the Miami Heat quitting basketball
The Dragon is ready to soar into the twilight.
Goran Dragic, an NBA guard for many years, announced his retirement from the game on Saturday, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. Before formally retiring, Dragic will play one more game in his home country of Slovenia, according to Charania.
Dragic, who is 37 years old, spent 15 NBA seasons playing. His tenures with the Phoenix Suns (with whom he was named to the All-NBA team and won the Most Improved Player Award in 2014) and the Miami Heat (with whom he was named an All-Star in 2018 and advanced to the NBA Finals in 2020) are what made him most famous. Dragic was a cherished fan favourite in Miami in particular because of his unselfish play and flexibility in filling in for whatever role was required in the

OG Anunoby’s trade to the New York Knicks is the first major trade domino to fall this NBA season.
Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN initially revealed that the Knicks are getting Anunoby from the Toronto Raptors in return for a deal that includes RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley. A 2024 second-round pick is also being acquired by the Raptors as part of the transaction
Anunoby is a highly valued two-way player, especially in defence, where he was named to the second team of the 2023 All-Defensive squad. Along with his scoring prowess, he has averaged 15.1 points per game this season with the Raptors. Trade rumours about him date back to the beginning of 2022. Since he can become an unrestricted free agency at the end of this season, they have only become stronger in the last several months. It comes with a high price for the Knicks. Barrett, who was previously selected in the lottery, is only 23 years old and has averaged 18.2 points a game this year. For the Toronto native, the trade to the Raptors will be a return home. Since joining the NBA, Quickley has been an effective bench scorer for the Knicks. Trade rumours have also mentioned him, and he is expected to play a bigger role in Toronto.
Although they are only 17–14, the Knicks are obviously serious about making a big impression in the Eastern Conference this season. Giving up so much also implies that they will make an effort to retain Anunoby in the long run, as it would be counterproductive to the agreement if they didn’t.
