Former Green Bay Packers starting wide out expected to sign with the Chicago Bears
There is still one game left in the season between the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers. In Week One, the Packers defeated the two storied teams in their first meeting. With two weeks remaining in the season, the Bears have already started thinking about next year, while the Packers are still fighting for a playoff spot
To try to close out this season strong, the Bears might, nevertheless, take action soon.
Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver and return man Amari Rodgers is a free agent wide receiver that the NFL staff at Bleacher Report suggested Chicago sign:
Given that Darnell Mooney’s contract is about to expire, wide receiver is expected to be one of the Bears’ top summer needs. They might also need someone in the slot. Since Rodgers doesn’t turn 25 until September, it would be worthwhile to bring him in for a few weeks to evaluate if he merits a reserve or future deal.
He has appeared in 33 games with the Colts (2023), Texans (2022), and Packers (2021–2022), catching 20 catches for 249 yards and one touchdown. In addition, Rodgers has returned 40 punts for 305 yards (7.6 average), three rushes for eighteen yards, and seventeen kickoff returns for 321 yards (18.9 average).
If the former third-round draft pick of Green Bay was signed by the Bears, it would undoubtedly be a fascinating move. Would they even think about it if it was only to try to get a head start against the Packers in Week 18?
