Michigan football 4-star target reveals final four schools ahead of big announcement
Four-star defensive end Christopher Burgess Jr. has four colleges left to choose from: Michigan football, Ohio State, Notre Dame football, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Ohio State Buckeyes. Decision day is quickly approaching.
Burgess claimed, “They’re the ones that come see me during the open periods and are the ones recruiting me the hardest.” Burgess explained why he’s narrowed down his list to include only the programmes listed above, saying, “Those are the main four schools coming up to see me” (h/t Steve Wiltfong of 247 Sports).
33 colleges, including Colorado Buffaloes, Georgia Bulldogs, Miami Hurricanes, Michigan State Spartans, Ole Miss Rebels, Texas A&M Aggies, and Nebraska Cornhuskers, have made offers to the Chicago Simeon standout. Michigan football is just one of those institutions.
The Wolverines are hopeful that on January 6, 2024, when the defensive end is anticipated to make his selection, Burgess will choose them. Additionally, Burgess will be playing at the All-American Bowl in San Antonio on the same day. Given the volume of universities expressing a genuine interest in Burgess, Michigan football must be optimistic about securing his commitment.
Burgess would join a Michigan defence that finished first in the 2023 college football season in scoring defence, allowing just 9.5 points per game, if he decides to attend Ann Arbour.
The Wolverines currently have 27 pledges for the 2024 season, with 18 four-stars and nine three-stars. They are in the midst of getting ready for their game against the Alabama Crimson Tide in the College Football Playoff semifinals in the Rose Bowl.
Meanwhile, Jim Harbaugh’s coaching future has been a recent topic of discussion around the organisation. According to reports, the Michigan football coach is thinking about accepting a $125 million contract offer from the university. There is supposedly a stipulation in the contract that prohibits him from coaching in the NFL the following season.
Eight different recruits paid the Wolverines visits in California prior to their Rose Bowl matchup with Alabama. For the Michigan football team’s upcoming game, four audacious predictions were made public.
