Minnesota Vikings have been battling as hard as possible for their playoff hopes. Especially after Kirk Cousins went down, others stepped up to fill the void, and have given it their all in a season that would have been easy to give up on.
After the latest loss against a Detroit Lions team, the last thing this Minnesota Vikings team needed was for another injury to end the season of another promising player
As the second half was coming to an end against the Detroit Lions, Nick Mullens threw a deep ball up for grabs to wide receiver Jordan Addison. Under pressure, the pass attempt came up short and the Lions defender was able to nab an interception going the other way.
Jordan Addison, while pursuing the play, was essentially blindsided by one of his own teammates trying to make a play. After spending some time in the medical tent, he was seen headed to the locker room. With early thoughts being that he would be able to come back with an extended break, it was hopeful that he would return to play against the Detroit Lions.
This turned out not be be the case as he was shortly thereafter ruled out. During the play his ankle had been rolled up on and he was unable to return.
The morning after, Ian Rapoport reported that Jordan Addison is now going to be evaluated as week-to-week going forward. With only two regular season games remaining, this could spell trouble, and is a likely end to his season for the Minnesota Vikings.
Jordan Addison is a first round draft pick out of USC. So far on the year he has amassed 63 catches, and 826 yards, and 9 touchdowns. Especially with some of the extended time that Justin Jefferson has been forced to miss due ti his own injuries, Jordan Addison has proven to be a valuable wide receiving talent, capable of making big time plays.
Before exiting the game against the Detroit Lions, Jordan Addison had a single reception for two yards. In what has been a hard season for the Minnesota Vikings, Jordan Addison has been able to play in all of the games this season. As the team has navigated a difficult, evolving, quarterback situation, Jordan Addison has proved to be something of a consistent presence for this offense.
Jordan Addison in only three other games has had games in less than 30 receiving yards. His career High came against an impressive San Francisco 49ers squad earlier in the year. A game in which he posted 7 receptions for 123 yards, and two scores.
While the news from this morning does not look encouraging, the Minnesota Vikings will be hoping for a quick return.
