NFL maintains Steelers S’s suspension The remainder of the regular season will be missed by Damontae Kazee Kazee.

The safety room of the Steelers continues to dwindle. Safety Damontae Kazee of the Steelers had his regular season come to an official end today as his suspension was maintained, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter.

In the event that they advance to the postseason, Kazee will be allowed to rejoin the club.

After hitting wide receiver Michael Pittman of the Indianapolis Colts in the head and neck, Kazee was dismissed from the Steelers’ Week 15 matchup with the Colts. Soon after, the NFL suspended Kazee due to his repeated offences of hits that were considered serious enough to warrant a fine. Despite Kazee’s appeal, the NFL maintained its decision, with the caveat that Kazee would now be eligible for the playoffs should the Steelers manage to make it.

It’s a blow for Kazee, who will now miss out on the remainder of his game checks for the 2023 regular season. It’s unfortunate for the Steelers as well, who will now be missing a number of their top safeties entering Week 16’s matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. Pittsburgh will be without Kazee, Minkah Fitzpatrick, and Keanu Neal (injured reserve), while Trenton Thompson has yet to participate in practice this week as he deals with an injury.
