ANN ARBOUR, Michigan: In just two weeks, Michigan will be back in the Rose Bowl and the College Football Playoffs.
U-M quarterback J.J. McCarthy met with media before Alabama preparations got underway to give an overview of the Crimson Tide and what it will take for the Wolverines to win in the CFP for the first time. Highlights from the discussion are listed below:
Amazingly good. Compared to other years, Coach Harbaugh’s schedule was a little different. I myself feel like a brand-new person, both physically and spiritually, boy. Thus far, it’s been pretty positive.
.. Although we haven’t been in full pads as much, we did take a week off the previous two years. Thus, it has taken a small toll on our bodies.
Incredible. After that brief vacation, I felt totally refreshed. And tomorrow, I’m eager to return to the football pitch. That’s the team’s overall attitude at the moment. It’s simply about getting out there, playing ball, and improving.
You know it’s a little worse than leading on if you know any athletes. However, I’m all right now. I am in perfect health. These are the games you save your body for, therefore I’m ready to go play now. I’m eager to give this one my best.
I believe it happens organically. However, in the end, it doesn’t matter who we play. We’re going to put our best forward against an opponent who will remain nameless and faceless.
I believe that for the past few years, we have become paralysed by overanalysis, going into excessive detail about too many topics and overanalyzing them. We actually just kind of eased into things throughout the first several weeks, in my opinion. And it has been somewhat new every day. That, in my opinion, will make the most impact in maintaining equilibrium.
Completely. Experience is, in my opinion, one of the most significant competitive advantages. It will be extremely important going into this game because we have experienced playing against an elite defence with elite athletes after the roller coaster of a game we had last year and the experience of playing against that defence while watching most of it from the sidelines against Georgia.
