In anticipation of facing one of the league’s top teams in the Buffalo Bills in Week 15 at Highmark Stadium, the Dallas Cowboys were looking for another convincing victory.
Sadly, the Cowboys collapsed in Buffalo on Sunday, with the offence failing to muster much of
anything after eight-time All-Pro guard Zach Martin left the game due to injury and did not play again.
Dallas only managed to score 10 points against the Bills defence, demonstrating the importance of Martin and suggesting that his departure was one of the primary causes of the offense’s inability to get going.
Quad injuries may be difficult to treat, but it appears that Martin’s time away from the field may not be that long. Head coach Mike McCarthy, via Jon Machota of The Athletic, stated that the veteran guard may play against the Miami Dolphins in Week 16.
For the team to succeed offensively, Martin’s presence on the field is obviously essential, particularly for star quarterback Dak Prescott, who is coming off one of his worst games of the year.
The Cowboys will have their work cut out for them once again this week as they continue to compete for NFC seeding in the final three games of the regular season, with the Dolphins arguably being a superior club than the Bills.
Assuming Martin is healthy, his return will be a positive step for Dallas, but it’s unclear how they’ll perform against Miami.
