After a judge declined to rule on the school’s request to at least temporarily overturn the Big Ten Conference’s sanction against the Wolverines for a sign-stealing conspiracy, Michigan played without head coach Jim Harbaugh on Saturday and defeated No. 9 Penn State.
A hearing in the university’s lawsuit against the Big Ten’s punishment was set for November 17, and Michigan stated around ninety minutes prior to kickoff that Harbaugh would not be at Beaver Stadium with the squad.
“Next week, we’re excited to present our case and show that the Big Ten hasn’t behaved fairly or lawfully,” a statement from Michigan said.
