Damar Hamlin in critical condition: live updates | Buffalo Bills vs Cincinnati Bengals game suspended | NFL Week 17
The Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals’ Monday Night Football game was halted and postponed following the first-quarter collapse of Bills safety Damar Hamlin on the field.
Game stopped after Hamlin was admitted to the hospital.
With 6:30 remaining in the first quarter, Joe Burrow sent the ball over the middle to Tee Higgins, setting up the play. After Higgins caught the ball, Hamlin tackled him; after he first stood up, he eventually fell to the ground. Players from both sides alerted the medics as soon as they realised how serious the situation was.
After team medics responded quickly to his needs, an ambulance was dispatched to the scene. After being placed on a stretcher to be taken into the ambulance, CPR was given to him.
After being taken to the UC Medical Centre, his vital signs were found to be normal, and the physicians noted that he had been sedated so that a breathing tube could be inserted into his throat. It is still stated that his health is critical.

Following a discussion between Sean McDermott and Zac Taylor, the teams were directed to their locker rooms to wait for an update from the NFL. Originally, the game was suspended for five minutes.
The injury occurred at 8:55 p.m. ET, and at 9:25, the ambulance headed for the hospital. The NFL eventually announced that the game would be postponed for the evening one hour and six minutes after the injury.
While Hamlin continues to battle for his life in the Cincinnati hospital, nobody is now thinking about whether the game will continue—a decision that has not been made by the league.
Hamlin experienced a heart attack.
The Bills declared in a statement that Hamlin had experienced a heart attack. On the pitch, his heartbeat was stabilised and he was put under sedation. Right now, the University of Cincinnati Medical Centre has him listed as critically ill.
They had to do two resuscitations on him because his heart had stopped. Before taking him to the hospital, they performed CPR on him on the pitch, and once they arrived at the hospital, they performed CPR once more.”
“I’m just relieved he’s still with us, that he can fight and is making an effort to heal and get better.”
“They put him under sedation so that his healing process could proceed more smoothly. We are simply living day by day. He appears to be on the rise in a constructive manner.”
This week’s Bills-Bengals game will not continue.
The NFL has officially announced that the Bills vs. Bengals game will not continue this week because to Damar Hamlin’s critical health. It is believed that the safety experienced a cardiac arrest during the game yesterday night, and they are still in critical condition at the hospital.
