“Everyone Wants to Get Better!” LB Patrick Queen says the defence for the Ravens keeps getting better.
Even though they have one of the greatest defences in the league this year, the Baltimore Ravens still aim to improve and become more formidable opponents every time out. The Ravens defeated the Los Angeles Rams 37–31 in overtime, despite giving up 128 rushing yards and occasionally struggling to contain running back Kyren Williams. Baltimore is ranking 12th in the NFL in rushing yards allowed per game with 104.2. Even though the run defence stats aren’t that poor, they might definitely be better.
Patrick Queen, a linebacker for the Ravens, stated, “We’re looking at every way to improve that.” It really just boils down to each man accepting his own shortcomings and trying his hardest. There are instances when you have numbers on you and someone has to go make a play. You must take two breaks. We’re investigating how to make it better. From a player’s perspective, we all wish to get better at it. If one of us has to go above and beyond to make a play, we’ll go ahead and do it.”
With just 16.8 points allowed per game, the Baltimore Ravens boast the second-best scoring defence in the NFL. USA Today Sports: USA Today Sports Roquan Smith, who is a dominant linebacker for Baltimore this season, and Queen make up the other half of the duo. With 108 total tackles, Queen is ranked 14th in the NFL, while Smith is tied for third with 136.
Together, the two have racked up 13 tackles for loss, 10 interceptions, 5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. Keeping opponents out of the end zone is one area in which the Ravens’ run defence shines. They have given up the fewest running touchdowns in the league this season—just four. Even so, Baltimore’s pass defence accounts for the majority of the Ravens’ defensive unit’s superiority, since they allow their opponents the 12th-highest yards per rush (4.3). The lowest number for any defence this year is the just 5.6 yards that opponents are able to throw for on each pass attempt.
