Brentford will field a full squad against Aston Villa, despite the loss of Bryan Mbeumo.
Aston Villa travel to Brentford on Sunday, looking to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table over Arsenal and Liverpool.
Bryan Mbeumo will miss every game for the next three months, according to Thomas Frank. The attacker will miss the Africa Cup of Nations after undergoing surgery on an ankle injury sustained in last weekend’s 2-1 loss to Brighton.
Nathan Collins, a summer signing from Wolves, could return against Unai Emery’s men, but Mathias Jensen and Josh Dasilva have also joined the list of long-term absentees.
“Bryan is a positive guy,” according to head coach Thomas Frank. It’s difficult to accept, but he’ll come back stronger. He has a great attitude. We’ve struggled almost since game one.
“We’ll look into it in January, but we never rush into anything.” We make an effort to be astute and make sound decisions. We will not sign a player if we do not believe it is for the long term. Maybe a loan this time, but it all depends on how things go in the next three or four weeks.”
Charles Goode, Ethan Pinnock, Nathan Collins, Ben Mee, Pontus Jansson, Mathias Jorgensen, Mads Bech Sörensen, and Mads Roerslev Rasmussen are the defenders.
Christian Norgaard, Keane Lewis-Potter, Myles Peart-Harris, Shandon Baptiste, Vitaly Janelt, Yehor Yarmoliuk, Ethan Brierley, and Frank Ogochukwu Onyeka are the midfielders.
Neal Maupay, Yoane Wissa, Saman Ghoddos, Mikkel Damsgaard, and Michael Olakigbe are the strikers.
Ivan Toney, Mathias Jensen, Bryan Mbeumo, and Rico Henry are all unavailable. Kevin Schade, Josh Dasilva, and Kristoffer Ajer
