Six Nottingham Forest players with question marks over their futures as transfer window looms

Whatever transpires over the next few weeks, Nottingham Forest will have a crucial window in January

Nottingham Forest defender Scott McKenna's future is uncertain.

Before then, the Reds will be hoping to have turned the tide on the pitch, and as the outcomes develop, it should become more apparent where head coach Steve Cooper is under pressure. However, following the stretch of festive games, the focus will truly shift to making the proper decisions in the transfer market.

Supervising certain outgoings is anticipated to be one of the club’s top objectives. Cooper has a large team, and there is a desire to reduce the number of employees.

Forest is aware that its transfer intentions may be impacted by the possibility of missing a number of players at the Africa Cup of Nations early in the next year. They have multiple members as well.

According to rumours, Sevilla has already decided to terminate Gonzalo Montiel’s City Ground loan early since they are prepared to sell him in January. The Argentine, who hasn’t played since October 7, has been linked to a move to former team River Plate.

Similar to Montiel, Forest may not have much control over what transpires with Andrey Santos, another loanee. However, if Chelsea calls up the young player, they can’t be overly upset. Santos has only made two appearances this season.

Cooper has maintained that Joe Worrall can yet find a way back into the team, despite the fact that he has recently had difficulty in cracking the starting lineup. Other teams have been made aware of the Reds captain’s predicament and the likelihood that he may be let go next month as he is now out of favour. Worrall’s suitors include two clubs in particular who are rumoured to be interested.
