On his podcast Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger, the veteran quarterback expressed his opinion that “perhaps the Pittsburgh Steelers’ tradition is over.”

“Who’s taking off someone’s face mask and saying, ‘No, that’s not what we do?'” Is that taking place? ESPN pundit Stephen A. Smith objected to Roethlisberger’s position, not because it was incorrect, but because he believed Roethlisberger shared some of the blame for the Steelers’ current situation.

Smith remarked, “Your hands ain’t clean in all of this,” on First Take on Wednesday. Smith

maintained that even though quarterback Peyton Manning played well after his play declined, he had a duty to protect the team’s culture and failed to live up to that expectation.

“You lingered on too long. Ben Roethlisberger ought to have left the team after his three years in the league. You were inanimate, Smith remarked.
