he Cleveland Browns, faced with the loss of Maurice Hurst Jr. to a season-ending injury, need to give former All-Pro Ndamukong Suh a call to help fill the void.
Hurst signed with the Browns this offseason and earned a spot in the rotation thanks to his strong play. He collected 22 tackles, 1.5 sacks and 4 tackles for loss this season.
The big man also notched an interception and three passes defended. Hurst played on 39% of the snaps on defense and also contributed on special teams.
“My 2023 season is over, and the frustration is unbearable,” Hurst posted on X. “However I am grateful to my teammates, coaches, staff, and the city of Cleveland for welcoming me and making me a part of this family. I’ll be back better than before.”

There aren’t many choices available to the Browns to replace Hurst right now in the season. However, Suh is a well-known player who is still unsigned and with whom the Browns have previously been connected. According to former Detroit News columnist Terry Foster, the second overall pick in the 2010 draft has been reaching out to multiple organizations in an attempt to make a comeback.
In addition to approaching the Lions about playing here, Suh also made contact with four or five other teams, Foster revealed on the podcast “The Woodward Heavyweights” on December 10. Thus, he extended the invitation to come here at first. Suh has spent a lot of time in Detroit in recent months. Here, he has investments. When he was a gamer, he wanted to get the hell out of here, but now he’s welcoming this community more than before.
Foster claims that the Browns are a potential suitor for Suh and that the Lions were not interested in acquiring him. Cleveland, which is leading the AFC playoff race, has the
Schwartz and Suh have a past together; during Suh’s tenure as the Lions’ head coach, Schwartz drafted him. Even in a limited position, he shown last season that he is still a valuable contributor at his advanced age.
Midway through the 2022 season, he signed a contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, and he appeared on little more than one-third of their defensive snaps after that. Suh had a grade of 64.2 overall from Pro Football Focus.
Currently, Jordan Elliott and Dalvin Tomlinson are the Browns’ starting line-ups. Elliott, though, is battling a concussion and might not be ready to play this week.
The latest in a heartbreaking series of injuries suffered by the Browns was the news regarding Hurst. Dawand Jones and Jedrick Wills Jr., two offensive tackles, will miss the remainder of the season. Grant Delpit, the starting safety, may also be placed on injured reserve.
The Browns’ season has been characterized by injuries despite their 8-5 record. Deshaun Watson, the quarterback, has suffered a shoulder injury. Pro Bowl running back Nick Chubb, the receiver, has suffered a knee injury. Linebacker Jacob Phillips has suffered a pectoral injury. Safety Rodney McLeod has suffered a torn biceps.
