With a touching message, Raiders’ Davante Adams gives Aidan O’Connell more confidence.
After his playing career ends, wide receiver Davante Adams of the Las Vegas Raiders will probably be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Playing alongside a quarterback who is undoubtedly going to Canton, he developed his resume. So it makes sense to pay attention when Adams talks about quarterbacks. Well, Aidan O’Connell, got it?
Thanks to Gridion Heroics’ Evan Massey, Adams stated in a speech on Wednesday that he was confident in O’Connell’s skills and that he wants the rookie quarterback “to be him and be comfortable out there.”
“I simply want to watch him play to the best of his abilities, trust himself, and carry out the actions that he did during the preseason when he had a really nice rhythm,” Adams added. “Just keep building and kind of remind himself of what he can do.”
O’Connell and Adams will be trying to invigorate a stale offence against the Minnesota Vikings after having a bye week. Three games in a row, the Raiders have scored 17 points or less. The New York Jets’ dedication to fielding the weaker offence of the two teams in each game they play is the only reason they aren’t 0-3 in those contests.
In spite of the team’s scoring difficulties, Adams has recently had one of his best runs of the year. Adams reached 80 yards receiving in only his third and fourth games of the season during Weeks 10 and 11, and it was his first time doing so in back-to-back games in 2023.
Adams is undoubtedly aware of the challenges O’Connell, a fourth-round selection, faces in his first season as the starting quarterback while the head coach is in temporary charge. Nonetheless, the seasoned professional is making every effort to keep the young man afloat.
“None of us are putting any pressure on him; we all love him and are here for him at every turn.
