Following a few additional days off due to their Thursday night game, the Seahawks resumed practise on Wednesday with six players missing. Due to injuries, running backs Zach Charbonnet and Kenneth Walker III were both sidelined on Wednesday. While Charbonnet hurt his knee against the Cowboys, Walker has been suffering with an oblique injury he sustained early in the Week 11 defeat to the Rams and hasn’t played since. Despite missing practise, the team’s two best rushers, Pete Carroll, expressed optimism about the players’ future situation
“In the walkthrough, Kenny (Walker III) moved around really effectively. Seeing him move about outside was exciting. Coach Carroll remarked, “He was flying around.” “We need to make sure he gets through this week and monitor his progress. We’re not sure.” Charbonnet, on the other hand, didn’t practise today but is moving closer to playing on Sunday. Coach Carroll commented, “That’s a really good sign that he was out there moving around today.” He did not have a knee injury; instead, he had a bruised knee. It’s not pleasant, and if he lands on it during the preparation week, it will hurt a lot, but by the end of the week, he ought to be in a decent position.”
Jordyn Brooks, the linebacker, left the Week 13 game in Dallas due to an ankle injury that might keep him out for a while. Coach Carroll stated, “Jordyn cannot do anything at this time.” The good news is that Brooks’s ankle injury isn’t too severe, so if he needs to miss any games at all, it might not prevent him from playing extensively. Leonard Williams (ankle), Tre Brown (heel), and Jamal Adams (knee) were also absent from practise. Despite having the same ailment entering into Week 13, Williams was able to play versus Dallas despite being dubious.
Evan Brown, Anthony Bradford, and Abraham Lucas, three offensive linemen, were all limited in practise to begin the week. Last week, Lucas returned off injured reserve against Dallas, and he played the entire game without any problems. Carroll reported that “he felt pretty good.” “I just discussed it with him. It made him feel quite decent. A little sore, as was to be expected, but he’s ready to go because the break was just long enough for him to get a few days.” If Bradford is cleared to play, he will likely start at guard since Phil Haynes was placed on injured reserve last week.
Similar to the Seahawks, Trent Williams, a left tackle, and defensive lineman Arik Armstead were among the six 49ers players who did not show up for practise on Wednesday. Williams was rested in order to heal from a foot/knee injury sustained by Armstead.
