The Brisbane Broncos, who finished second in an incredible Grand Final against the Penrith Panthers, were among the most exciting sides in the NRL in 2023. Now, they’ve turned to Tottenham Hotspurs of the Premier League for assistance.
Given that the Spurs haven’t won a trophy since 2008, they’re hardly precisely the team to consult when it comes to
trophy lifting guidance. Nevertheless,c, the manager of the Broncos, has consulted their new coach throughout the preseason.
As a result, Walters enlisted the assistance of fellow Australian and Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou, who is more used to winning having won numerous trophies with Scottish club Celtic. This is what 9News Queensland down under stated.
Spurs had been leading the Premier League title race earlier in the year but have since picked up just one point from twelve causing them to slip from top spot.
Walters explained their prior history, adding: “When I was at the Storm working there as an assistant and he was coaching the [Melbourne] Victory and they were quite successful there. We were just re-linking old friendships.
“We just want to get better as a club and certainly myself as a coach as well.
According to 9News, Walters made contact with Postecoglou while on a “working holiday” in England. Walters told the news organisation about his conversations with the Spurs manager.
“It was nice to link up with him again and just have a good conversation about not just football but just life in general,” Walters told 9News Queensland. “He’s been very successful in his early days at Tottenham.”
Walters stated after reflecting on their 2023 campaign, “It’s not really about making amends.”
“It was the first competitive season for the Broncos in a long time, and I thought we had a terrific season.”
