Emery, the new coach of Aston Villa, has his sights set on awards.

Unai Emery, the new manager of Aston Villa, is focused on winning the club’s first major trophy in more than 20 years.
After leaving Spanish team Villarreal to take over at Villa after Steven Gerrard was fired, Emery is back in the Premier League. The 51-year-old was fired from his position as manager of Arsenal in 2019 after a brief tenure, but despite his failures, he is still well-liked in Europe following successful stints at Villarreal and Sevilla.

After winning the Europa League with Villarreal in 2021, Emery advanced to the semi-finals of the Champions League with the team the previous season. In the past, he guided Sevilla to three straight Europa League championships. Unlike Emery’s trophy-filled career, Villa hasn’t won a major award since the League Cup in 1996.

During his first press conference as the club’s manager on Friday, Emery promised to put an end to Villa’s trophy drought. “I want to help Aston Villa win a trophy. Before his first game as manager on Sunday against Manchester United, Emery stated, “It’s my personal challenge at the beginning.”

My second goal might be to play in Europe with Aston Villa. We now have to focus only on the upcoming game.

because our position at the table is not favourable.” Villa has only won three of their first 13 games, placing them 16th in the Premier League.
First and foremost, the former Paris Saint-Germain manager needs to get Villa out of the relegation zone. He won’t have much time to impart his football philosophy to the team while they are fighting for their lives. The Spaniard remarked, “I want to create a new way. “We require time, but there isn’t as much of it in football. It pleases me to be here. We chose to come here because this is a

fantastic project, we intend to work towards our goals together gradually, and I want to contribute my experience and grow here.”Emery, who quit Arsenal after not making an impression in his eighteen

months at the Emirates Stadium, faces a challenge at Villa, who are just one point above the relegation zone. “I am now 51 years old and in my experience I’ve coached in Spain, France and the Premier League and I have played against a lot of teams in the world,” he said.

“The English teams are a very big challenge. I came to play against them because the Premier League is maybe the first league in the world.”
