Following the 2023 National and Rookie draughts, the Cats selected seven players, Connor O’Sullivan, Mitch Edwards, Shaun Mannagh, George Stevens, Oli Wiltshire, Lawson Humphries, and Emerson Jeka, to the team. In September, the Club also welcomed Joe Furphy, a 203cm ruck prospect.

One of the other list management adjustments is Ollie Dempsey’s promotion to the main list for 2024. Dempsey participated in five AFL games in 2023 after being chosen as a rookie in 2021. He

Oscar Murdoch, Mitch Hardie, Ted Clohesy, and Emerson Jeka are the four rookie listed players for the Cats in 2024, along with 38 primary listed players. The Club’s Category B Rookies will be Joe Furphy and Oisin Mullin.

Following the completion of the AFL 2024 roster, the Cats have officially announced the jumper numbers assigned to their new players.

First-round pick Connor O’Sullivan will don the number 14, which was most recently worn 355 times by Premiership captain Joel Selwood and 202 times by 202-gamer David Clarke between 1971 and 1981, as was made public on the first night of the National Draught.

Draftee The number seven, which Shaun Mannagh will wear to start his career, was last worn in 2022. Isaac Smith, the winner of the Norm Smith Medal, Mitch Edwards, number 11, George Stevens, number 15, Lawson Humphries, number 17, Oli Wiltshire, number 21, Joe Furphy, number 37, and Emerson Jeka, number 43.

Andrew Mackie, general manager of football for the Geelong Cats, stated that the team is eager for the 2024 campaign and extends a warm welcome to all newcomers.

“We are happy to announce our 2024 playing roster, and we can’t wait to see what this group can accomplish with the coaching group’s guidance,” Mackie stated.

One important result for us this offseason was selecting seven players during the Draught period.
