With two players, CITY SC is one of four teams in 2023 to have the most selections for one team. St. Louis became the fourth expansion club to have multiple selections in the Best XI, and the first expansion team to have two selections since Atlanta in 2017.

Parker had his best offensive statistical season in his ninth MLS season, with four goals in 29 regular-season matches. Prior to 2023, the Hicksville, New York native had only scored two goals in 217 regular-season games. He led the CITY SC defence to seven clean sheets. Parker was named an MLS All-Star for the first time in his career in August, in addition to being named to the Best XI.
