INGLECOW, California Following the Browns’ 36-19 loss to the Rams, it was pointless to try to hide it after nine days on the road.

According to safety Grant Delpit, “I’m ready to get in my bed, man.” “A win would have been nice, but I’m glad to be going home.”

In the NFL, winning often heals; as Kevin Stefanski likes to say, it’s like a deodorant. With this one, the metaphor you use is up to you.

Indeed, the players’ hasty departure from the visitors’ locker room at SoFi Stadium may have been motivated to get home if the Browns had prevailed in this game. The team had been on a nine-day road trip that began with the team’s 29-12 loss in Denver last week.

It is reasonable to question whether this defence, which has carried this team for a large portion of the campaign, is tiring.

Not if they have any input on the matter.

According to Ogbo Okoronkwo, “burnout” does not exist. “Our style of play and defence are ingrained in us. It’s embedded within us. I do not see us burning out because that is who we are. I believe teams are overexposure to film after 12 weeks. I believe all we need to do is keep going back to work and honing and perfecting what we do.

They may think the term “burnout” is overly harsh, but there’s no doubting that hardship has increased in recent weeks.

The Browns chose to end the nine-day west coast road trip in order to avoid having to travel across the nation twice in as many days, as well as to give the team a chance to bond and enjoy a change of scenery later in the season. This game also closes a stretch of five of the team’s seven road games.

Even seasoned travellers cannot deny that the road can be taxing, even if they would prefer not to use it as an excuse.

Juan Thornhill said after the game, “Honestly, it’s always harder to play on the road.” You have to find a way to bring your own energy, even though you don’t have it or your fans. Thus, that cannot be an excuse for you. We must locate

a method to improve our performance on the road, as we play excellent football at home. It seems like we are two distinct teams: one that performs exceptionally well at home and another that struggles a little bit away from home. We simply need to figure out how to get past that and take that energy with us.
