In their victory over the Seattle Seahawks, the Dallas Cowboys had a lot of highs and lows. The actual game was closer than anticipated, with Dallas trailing for a significant portion of the match. As a result, the game had an exciting conclusion and featured several memorable plays.

Perhaps I’m a little strange, but what happened after a play was my favorite part of the game

With his deft hands, ability to go yards after the catch (including the hurdle in this same game), and strong blocking, Jake Ferguson has emerged as a vital component of the offense. Another significant contribution he makes is depicted in the above clip. This was a show of dominance rather than good sportsmanship. It is a basic truth that good guys don’t always come out on top. In that instant, Ferguson was claiming his territory, telling the Seattle defense that this was his home and that the Cowboys would prevail. After all, football is a game in which the object of dominance is to physically and psychologically overwhelm the opposition.

If things had gone a little differently, it could have easily backfired, but this time Ferguson made the play, scoring the game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter. When the team plays the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, they will undoubtedly need this mentality to prevail in close games.

It hasn’t consistently existed. Dallas had a long-standing reputation for being soft, giving up easy wins in close games to teams like Seattle. This victory was the exact opposite. This team persevered in the face of a remarkably difficult effort from the Seahawks and a great deal of adversity, which included a lot they inflicted upon themselves due to their defense’s shortcomings and a large pile of careless errors.

The Cowboys have a lot of tough players. Ferguson’s overtly confrontational actions seemed to me to be a reflection of that rather than merely a small amount of hubris. They haven’t always been as strong this season, to be sure; in their first two defeats, there was a hint of weakness. However, they put up a strong fight and played the entire game in the Eagles’ first game. It was yet another instance of the team making use of the bye. They emerged from it with fresh resolve and focus, which has helped them to a 9-3 record and a postseason appearance.

In order to secure the highest seed possible and get through the most challenging four-game stretch of the season, Dallas will need to keep relying on that. They have extremely little chance of catching Philadelphia, who still leads the league. However, they are currently ranked as the fifth seed, which is very achievable and would simplify the first round considerably.

They can also pick up some tips from their cherished division rivals. The Eagles’ record may have been influenced by pure luck, but they undoubtedly possess a great deal of toughness as evidenced by their history of rallying from deficits to win games. They complement the Cowboys well in terms of talent. It might come down to which team is more interested in having the rematch. There is currently little doubt about Dallas’ fervent desire to win.
