Crystal Palace have suffered an injury setback ahead of their match against Leeds United.

This weekend, Leeds United will travel to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace, but the Eagles will be missing a number of key players due to injury.

They lost 2-1 to Chelsea last weekend, while Leeds drew 0-0 with Aston Villa, so both teams will be looking to get back on track on Sunday.

During the match against Chelsea, Clyne rolled his ankle while losing in an aerial duel to Thiago Silva in the build-up of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. He had to be stretchered off and could be out for the foreseeable future.

Jack Butland broke both of his hands in training in July, but the Athletic reported that he’d be out for up to eight weeks. That was eight weeks ago, so he may be able to return to training soon, but he will miss this weekend’s game.

Butland stated on July 29: “Broken hand.” There is no need for an operation. Opportunity to test the limits and emerge as a monster. “There will be no excuses.”

Joachim Anderson, who was injured during training, will be a huge loss for Palace ahead of Sunday. Anderson has been Palace’s second best player this season, with a 7.27 rating, trailing only Wilfred Zaha, who has a 7.31 rating, according to WhoScored.

“He is injured, I’m told,” Vieira said on October 1. I don’t think it’s anything major, but it’s a niggle.”

In July, Jack Butland broke both of his hands in practice, but the Athletic reported that he would be out for up to eight weeks. That was eight weeks ago, so he might be able to return to training soon, but he won’t be able to play this weekend.

Ankle – Nathan Ferguson
Nathan Ferguson injured his ankle in training over a month ago and hasn’t played for Vieira since.

“[Nathan] just had a setback,” Vieira said on August 12. It’s too early to speculate, but he didn’t train with the team in the last few days.”

Unknown potential return date

McArthur, James – Groin
James McArthur suffered a reoccurring groin injury in July and has yet to play this season. He was injured for much of the preseason and has now missed their first seven games of the season.

“It’s just a step back,” Vieira said on July 30. It is a wound. Hopefully, it won’t be as long as we think. We’ll have to wait until Monday to find out.
