This year’s Remembrance weekend will see football players all over the UK proudly wear the poppy on their shirts as a way of showing their support for the Royal British Legion.
The red poppies have served as an enduring symbol of support for our Armed Forces since they were first worn as a
gesture of remembrance just over a century ago. People from different backgrounds, faiths, and cultures come together to remember.
When Watford FC plays Rotherham United on Saturday, November 11, at Vicarage Road at 3 p.m. KO, players will wear poppies on their iconic yellow shirts as part of their ongoing support for the Armed Forces community.
On Sunday, November 26, from kickoff until 3pm, a live auction will be held to sell the game-used shirts. Once the auction goes live, bids can be placed HERE.
The Poppy Appeal of the Royal British Legion will receive the proceeds raised. These shirts will be individually signed by the player who wore them, adding to their value and turning them into a one-of-a-kind piece of sports history.
Every contribution made to the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal ensures that the Armed Forces community receives essential support and that their special contribution is never forgotten.
The 2022 Poppy Appeal campaign by MatchWornShirt was a huge success, raising over £900,000 for the RBL
Millers supporters, in spite of the game’s prior promotion as “all ticket,” will be able to purchase tickets from the Away Ticket Office on Saturday CASH ONLY.
The Millers had sold 595 tickets by the time AESSEAL New York Stadium’s doors opened for business on Friday at noon.
Supporters can also pick up their tickets from the Away Ticket Office if they have made plans to pick them up at Vicarage Road.
