The latest Nottingham Forest news comes from the City Ground, where Steve Cooper’s Reds defeated Aston Villa 2-0.

Head coach Steve Cooper praised the City Ground fans for their contribution to Nottingham Forest’s return to winning ways.

Everything about Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Aston Villa, according to the Welshman, showed the club “at its finest.” Trentside also had a fantastic atmosphere.

The crowd assisted the team in ending a six-match winless streak due to goals from Ola Aina and Orel Mangala. Cooper hopes that the timely and much-needed success will inspire confidence as his new-look Forest side continues to gel.

“You could tell before the game that everyone was up for it,” he remarked of his team’s support. “They always are, but you get that feeling sometimes, don’t you, where you’re like, ‘OK, let’s get to work today.'”

“The players, as well as myself and the staff, naturally respond to that.” Then it becomes mutual, and we create an extremely difficult environment for our opponents to play in, but a really nice environment for us to play in.

“It’s going to take time to really become what we want to become here. That’s not to say we will get there. It is going to take a lot of hard work.
