Liverpool fans may scream Mo Salah’s name on a weekly basis, but AI has passed him up as the club’s best-ever player.

When it comes to delivering for his club and Jurgen Klopp, Mohamed Salah is rarely outdone, yet the Liverpool star has been bypassed in the race to be named the club’s best-ever player. Since his big-money signing from AS Roma in 2017, the Egyptian winger has been synonymous with the club, and fans have sung songs about their ‘Egyptian King’ to him. Salah, on the other hand, may be startled to learn that he is not even close to being Anfield’s king, at least in the eyes of artificial intelligence.

Since taking over as Liverpool manager in October 2015, Klopp has overseen the recruitment of 37 players, with Serbian midfielder Marko Grujic being the first. Few would deny that Salah was the most productive and vital player brought in by Klopp eight years ago.

The 31-year-old has 196 goals and 83 assists in 319 games for the club, breaking the record for most goals in a Premier League season before Erling Haaland broke it last season.

Salah’s goal total places him fifth on the club’s all-time scoring list. However, according to popular AI program ChatGPT, the tricky winger is merely third on their all-time list of finest signings.

ChatGPT does compliment Salah for his goal-scoring ability, characterizing him as a “goal-scoring machine and one of the most prolific wingers in the Premier League.” However, it appears that scoring more than one goal per two games is enough to beat some of his teammates.

Andy Robertson was also left out of the top five, while Trent Alexander-Arnold was not to be discovered. Despite the fact that the two full-backs have combined for 112 Premier League assists.

Sadio Mane was praised with Salah, but he was only ranked fourth behind his fellow African icon: “Mane is a versatile and dynamic forward who has consistently delivered goals and assists for Liverpool.” He’s played an important role.
