Hugh Keevins has stated that the Rangers’ title push is no longer being aided by costly summer misfit transfers.
They have won all three of their Scottish Premiership matches since Philippe Clement took over from Michael Beale, with the likes of Danilo shining.
Keevins acknowledged that certain fans’ “Xenophobic” attitude toward foreign recruits made him giggle at times, especially after the great win at Dundee.
On Sunday, November 5, Keevins offered his thoughts on the snobbery from fans throughout the country in his latest column for the Daily Record.
“Rangers’ tilt at the title is no longer being contested by an assortment of multi-million-pound misfits,” he wrote in the article.
“I’ve always laughed at the xenophobic attitude of this country’s fans, who look at a foreign player when he arrives from somewhere more exotic and sneer at his credentials.”

“Aye, but can he pull it off on a rainy midweek night in Dundee?” is the difficulty. Clement’s team responded powerfully to that one, scoring five goals at Dens Park in midweek.”
Clement deserves a lot of credit for the way he has turned the Rangers’ fortunes around since taking over from Beale.
They are currently eight points behind unbeaten Celtic in the Scottish Premiership. However, if the Hoops falter and the Gers maintain their excellent form under their new manager, the Gers have a good opportunity of springing an upset in the race.
Rangers took a respite from league play over the weekend, traveling to Hampden Park to face Hearts in the ViaPlay Cup final.
Rangers won 3-1, and it was their British players who stole the show, with James Tavernier and Scott Wright scoring the goals.
