According to a source, Tottenham Hotspur and Rob MacKenzie are deep in negotiations as they attempt to bring the Aston Villa manager to North London.
Tottenham announced on October 9 that they have signed 43-year-old Dane Johan Lange, formerly of Villa, as their new technical director. Tottenham also hopes to get him back together with MacKenzie.
Football Insider reports that negotiations between Villa’s recruitment specialist MacKenzie and Spurs are at a “advanced” level. Spurs are working hard to finalize an agreement that will allow the Englishman to rejoin the team.
Between February 2015 to August 2016, MacKenzie served as a scout for Spurs after becoming well-known at Leicester City. After that, he worked briefly for Belgian team OH Leuven and Derby County before relocating to Villa in August 2020. MacKenzie has had positions as a video analyst and chief scout in the West Midlands.
He has assisted Unai Emery in elevating Villa to new heights in recent seasons and has also reported to Monchi, president of football operations.
Spurs are clamoring to get MacKenzie into their lineup, a sign that he has impressed them. If he signed on, he would support Ange Postecoglou, the manager, who is doing well since joining Spurs in the summer.

Following that, he had a brief employment stint with Derby County and the Belgian teams OH Leuven before moving to Villa in August 2020. MacKenzie has impressed the Spurs, as seen by their want to include him in the starting lineup. He would back manager Ange Postecoglou, who has been performing well since joining Spurs in the summer, if he signed on.
