Joe Rodon, a defender for Leeds United, was substituted off against Huddersfield Town in the second half.
Joe Rodon was substituted during the second half of Leeds United’s match against Huddersfield Town on Saturday lunchtime, a blow to the team’s injury report. The loanee from Tottenham Hotspur appeared uncomfortable after deflecting a Town pass out of play and falling to the ground.
The Whites captain Liam Cooper promptly took the place of the Wales international, demonstrating Daniel Farke’s obvious unwillingness to take any chances with his team leading 4-0. After the game, Farke will probably give a brief update on his injuries during his press conference.
It had been almost ideal for the Whites, who recovered magnificently from Wednesday’s loss at Stoke City, until Rodon’s departure.
Dan James and Crysencio Summerville both scored goals in a furious first half that saw the Whites lead 4-0 at the break. Luke Ayling and Wilfried Gnonto took Sam Byram and Crysenscio Summerville’s places in Farke’s first two replacements.
If Rodon is expected to miss any significant time due to injury, Leeds United, who play Leicester City on Friday night at the King Power Stadium, may suffer a severe blow. Leeds’ only injuries this season are Djed Spece, Junior Firpo, and Stuart Dallas, following a long early-season injury list.
Since joining Farke’s defence on a season-long loan from Spurs in the summer, Rodon has been an integral member of the team.
