The Washington Commanders host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoon in their regular season finale. The Commanders would ruin the Cowboys’ chance to win the NFC East division if they prevailed. The Cowboys are competing not just for the division title but also for the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoffs and a home game guarantee in the wild card and divisional rounds. This season, the Cowboys are unbeaten at AT&T Stadium, 8-0.Dallas Cowboys | Official Site of the Dallas Cowboys

The Commanders pulled off the upset in Week 18 of the previous season, so Dallas would be wise to keep an eye on them. In a 26-6 loss from the previous season, Dak Prescott and the offence managed just 182 total yards.

It will be a task for the Commanders to impede Prescott’s outstanding season. With 32 touchdown passes compared to just eight interceptions in 2023, Prescott leads the NFL. The Cowboys defeated the Detroit Lions 20–19 on Saturday night, a thrilling victory. Dallas wants to strengthen their running game; last week’s 61 yards gained on the ground were their second-lowest total of the year. It has been three weeks since the Cowboys had 100 yards on the ground.

Conversely, quarterback Sam Howell hopes to improve on a strong showing despite losing to the San Francisco 49ers 27–10. After seven straight losses, Washington is approaching a pivotal summer in which coaching, quarterback, and all other positions might see changes. The Commanders would currently hold the second overall pick in the NFL Draft in 2024.

Dallas’ victory would also maintain an absurd pattern, as it would be the 19th year in a straight that no club from the NFC East had won a division title in a succession.
