Following the delivery of a statement, Coventry City manager Mark Robins is predicted to go to the Championship.
Norwich City fired former Aston Villa head coach Dean Smith, and Mark Robins is the favourite to take over at Carrow Road.
Considering that the Championship table is more crowded than ever, Norwich, who are now in fifth position, are only three points behind 16th place. Following the Canaries’ ninth loss of the season, a 2-1 loss at Luton Town on Boxing Day, Smith was fired.
“This was a tough decision, but one that we felt was necessary to give ourselves the best possible chance of achieving our objective of promotion to the Premier League this season,” stated Stuart Webber, Sporting Director.
“We would like to officially thank Dean, Craig, and Liam for their unwavering commitment to the football club’s best interests.
“Now that the season is less than halfway over and three straight home games are approaching, we have a great chance to move forward and create some positive momentum both on and off the field.”
Before their match against Reading on New Year’s Day, the Yellows are dangerously close to falling out of the top six, having won just four of their previous fifteen games.
Smith left Norwich this afternoon, and Coventry City manager Robins is expected to take over. Robins is placed at 12/1 to be appointed by Norwich by bookmaker Bet Victor.
