‘Advanced conversations’ between West Brom and Carlos Corberan regarding Steve Bruce’s replacement
After what is almost a two-week caretaker stint by Richard Beale, West Bromwich Albion looks to be close to naming a permanent replacement for Steve Bruce.
Carlos Corberán, the former head coach of Huddersfield Town, and West Bromwich Albion are allegedly “in advanced talks” about Corberán taking over as the team’s manager.
After the 0-0 draw against Luton Town, Steve Bruce was fired as Albion’s manager twelve days ago. Richard Beale, the under-21s coach, has been in charge of the first team’s operations ever then. After a protracted hiring process, the club is now thought to be close to naming a successor, and Corberán seems to be their guy.
Additionally, it’s said that Jody Morris, a former Frank Lampard assistant at Derby County and West Brom, has negotiations with the club.
Chelsea, but he’s currently unemployed and aspires to manage. But because these discussions are advanced, Corberán appears to be the front-runner today, with claims emerging just hours before Baggies play Millwall.
Rob Dorsett, a reporter for Sky Sports News, tweeted that Albion and Carlos Corberán are in “advanced talks over head coach vacancy.” “A deal could be completed by the end of the weekend,” Dorsett continues.
If that’s the case, Corberán is expected to be in the dugout when Sheffield United visits The Hawthorns next Saturday around lunch. Before the Championship season ends in honour of the World Cup, there will be four more matches, starting with that one.
