Pre-match: Sadler anticipates facing a self-assured Tranmere team

Mat Sadler, the head coach of Walsall, anticipates facing a confident and well-trained Tranmere Rovers squad on Saturday afternoon at the Poundland Bescot Stadium.

After wins over Notts County and Alfreton Town in the FA Cup, the Saddlers will be seeking to cap off a successful week thus far.

In what he believes will be a true battle against a squad led by an experienced leader, Sadler has urged his team to play with passion.

Sadler remarked, “Nigel’s record speaks for itself; I don’t need to highlight it.”

It’s hardly surprising that they’re playing well right now because he’s had an incredible career in English football at every level and is an excellent player coach.

It will be a really tough challenge, just like every game is, and you shouldn’t expect me to say anything less because that is the reality. They have a strong squad, have won their last six games, and are playing the way he wants them to play—very effective football that is really well-organized.

It will be a difficult game because no one in football rolls over and lets you tickle their tummies, but we’re hoping

“As every League Two game is, this one will be a struggle, difficult, and at times a skirmish. I implore everyone to come up and support us on Saturday. To win the game, we’re going to need to be very focused, aggressive, and give it our all, and we’ll need everyone to support us in that.”

On Tuesday night, the Saddlers advanced to the Emirates FA Cup’s third round, earning a trip to Southampton, a Championship team.

Sadler is happy with his players’ performance in that tie.

He verified, “Everyone handled the game well.”

“It was a difficult game; at the conclusion, there were some beaten and bruised bodies, but everyone made it through, and now they have an extra day to recuperate and go back to their best for Saturday. Ross, Rem, and Joe Riley are the only ones receiving treatment at the time, but everyone else is making progress.
