James Cook, wearing a deep blue costume with a hint of fairy dust, gambolled through the crisp Buffalo air. He’d already completed the difficult bit, meandering through the redwoods of Dallas in order to get outside.
Then the fun started: Cook performed a somersault into the end zone to cap off yet another spectacular touchdown, his second of the day.
It was the high point of a glittering game at Highmark Stadium as the Bills continued to prove they are among the most formidable teams in the league. And Cook was in the middle of it all, soaking up the starry sky while using his hard-nose running (and a little bit of his receiving flourish) to transform mountains into rubble.
Throughout Buffalo’s 31-10 victory over Dallas, Cook was everywhere. He bolted. He made passes. He stopped. And he was even cool with getting a little dirty to achieve it, as demonstrated by his tumble into pay dirt.

The offensive line of the Bills is known for their creative energy, especially when the ball is lofted into the air.
For Sunday’s game against the Cowboys, though, a fresh strategy was needed. The Cowboys, led by a consistent All-Pro in Micah Parsons, have one of the most dangerous front lines in football. In the secondary, they also have star power thanks to free-wheeling cornerback DaRon Bland.
When you combine that with the icy cold, you have the ideal setting for Cook’s powerful elegance.
Cook scored two touchdowns (one receiving, one rushing) and had 221 yards of total offence. He covered 32 yards on the first drive alone, floating across the meadow early.
He would go on to stump Dallas’ defence with a whopping 25 carries for 179 yards after finding plenty of ground.
Cook gave a surprisingly powerful performance. Not because he isn’t a superior runner in the league; in fact, he surely is. However, he does not typically exhibit that degree of authority. Alternatively, to express it more simply:

Cook’s campaign is taking off. The last instance of this phenomena came on Sunday. He joined Tyreek Hill and MVP contender Christian McCaffrey as the third player in the league to reach the 1,400 all-purpose yard mark for the season.
