A prospect may begin the process as early as age 14 or 15, but the main focus is on the prospect’s development and upcoming assessment periods as they get older. Prospect ranking is also a very subjective and fluid process; frequently, there is not much of a difference between a player ranked fifth in a class and one ranked seventeenth.
