Bengals’ Offensive Line Analysis: Examining Their Prominent Display Against the Colts

In Week 14, the Bengals defeated the Colts to raise their record to 7-6.

Cincinnati’s top pass protection grade (established last week) was tied despite playing a top pass rushing squad.

With three of their best grades coming in the last three weeks and all being evaluated at 85 or above, the front five is on a roll when it comes to protection.

Against the Colts, the team performed among the top five this season. This week, there was a noticeable decline in the functionality of run blocking. It would be good to see more consistent run blocking, even though it could be challenging to duplicate your highest graded game of the season.

When it came to execution, the run game presented the club with its greatest challenges this week. This week, the inside offensive line saw a sharp decline in performance.

After Week 13, Ted Karras and Alex Cappa had the best grades of the whole season. They received the lowest possible overall grade in Week 14. Their performance in the run game was the biggest disappointment of the week. Grover Stewart and DeForest Buckner had good games against the Bengals’ interior three, despite the effectiveness of their running backs.

Week 14 saw Jonah Williams stand out. This season, he has been the Bengals’ most reliable offensive lineman, so I thought he would improve after a difficult performance against the Jaguars. He succeeded in doing so admirably against Indianapolis, as seen by his top-three performance overall and his finest pass-protection performance of the year. Overall, Williams had a fantastic week.

Talking about the right tackle versus the Colts would be incomplete without discussing the left tackle, particularly in light of the fact that Orlando Brown Jr. was the Bengals’ highest-graded lineman.

In addition, he performed among the top three versus Indianapolis. In Week 14, he led the group in graded run blocking. Over the past few games, Brown has increased his intensity.

After having his worst game of the season in Week 10, he has been playing exceptionally well. Three of his five greatest performances of the season have come in the last three weeks. To put it briefly, Brown is performing at his peak during the year’s most crucial period.
