Buffalo Bills’ deep-ball threat looking to ‘ignore the noise’ in 2024 after almost reaching ‘breaking point’ last season

Buffalo Bills hope to keep the excitement rolling into Week 2

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Gabe Davis says he will “ignore the noises” in 2023

after admitting that public opinion impacted his performance last season.

Davis, 24, had a mixed season in 2022, recording some big performances against Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Rams while also making just two or fewer receptions on four separate occasions.

The 2020 fourth round pick has made a name for himself as a deep-ball threat, highlighted by his 171 yards and two touchdowns off just three receptions against Pittsburgh last season.

Davis’ touchdown rate faded as the campaign went on, with the UCF product adding just three more scores in the final 10 weeks of the regular season.

Davis, who was also dealing with an ankle injury last season, is now entering a contract year so will be hoping for a big season to earn him a second contract in the NFL.

Speaking to the media at the team’s training camp , Davis said: “I’m hard on myself, every day I’m out there I try and separate myself from others.

“I’m not indestrucible, everyone has a breaking point, there are times where life isn’t all that good and you try and ignore the noise but sometimes it gets to you and last year it did no matter how much I tried to keep it away.

“My biggest thing is to separate myself from that completely and try to focus on how good my life really is.

“It is a blessing and a dream to do what I’m doing, I can’t let anyone take that away from me and I feel I did [in 2022].”
