The signing of wide receiver Jakobi Meyers by the Las Vegas Raiders this past offseason was definitely a huge hit. This season, Meyers has been essential to the Silver and Black offence. Meyers has caught 52 passes for 591 yards and seven touchdowns for the Raiders offence in 11 games this season. Meyers’s first-ever game will take place this Sunday, when he takes on the Vikings. In his career, he has three catches totaling 62 yards against the Vikings. Pro Football Focus reports that Meyers’ pff grade for the current campaign is 70.8.

Where he is as far as his respect level is where I was maybe my third, fourth year in the league. People knew about it, and it was more of what people will come to say after the games. The feedback that I get from other players after the game about Jakobi [Meyers] or later on in the week, they’ll say certain things like, ‘I didn’t know sixteen was like that,’ and I tell him the same thing. He’s kind of like the best kept secret and we got to display it more, obviously give everybody more opportunities, but he’s one of those sneaky players. As far as all the receivers that I’ve been around in my career that I got to play with, I’ll say he’s up there amongst the guys that are really never covered. His spatial awareness and ability to put his own savvy on different routes is special and it’s something that you don’t just see, it’s something that people definitely work. Part of it is just his genetic makeup, but he works really hard at it and takes a lot of pride in his route running. So, it makes it a lot easier on me when he hits a big one like he did on the right sideline last game. We need more of that out of him moving forward and the rest of the guys too.”
