Social media users react to OU defensive back Damond Harmon’s frightening injury against TCU.

Oklahoma lost its second straight game on Saturday, falling 55-24 to TCU at Amon G. Carter Stadium. Injuries

plagued the Sooners throughout the game, from quarterback Dillon Gabriel to defensive back Damond Harmon.

Gabriel was forced to leave the game early in the second quarter after TCU middle linebacker Jamoi Hodge dove

headfirst at him, making helmet-to-helmet contact and immobilising Gabriel. Gabriel stood up a few minutes later and walked to the injury tent before exiting the game.

However, none of Saturday’s injuries were as frightening as Harmon’s in the fourth quarter. After Harmon was injured while tackling a TCU player, the game was delayed for about 15 minutes. Both teams’ players rushed onto the

field as he was placed on a backboard and eventually carted off.
OU coach Brent Venables said after the game that Harmon had a history of back problems. Harmon was able to

move his arms and legs after the injury, and he was taken to the hospital for an MRI and ongoing monitoring.People quickly took to social media to express their support for Harmon’s quick recovery.

Damond Harmon was conscious and responsive as he left the field on a stretcher. Good sign. Remains a scary situation, though.
