We can use our accusers to point the finger at Mike Bobo, the referees, or the players who didn’t appear to bring it when we needed it most, but that won’t make the hurt any less intense now that the game and the winning run are over.

We can spend the entire evening playing “what if,” waxing eloquent about a false start penalty and the ensuing missed field goal, or a ball that bounced the wrong way and benefited the Crimson Tide rather than the Bulldogs, but “what if” never altered the course of events.

We can take personal jabs from Alabama fans, and the rest of the nation as well, and engage in absurd debates while appearing more deranged than the people who are making fun of us.

What if we put an end to all those bad emotions and instead express gratitude, appreciation, and even joy for what we have seen over the past three seasons?Twenty-nine. Twenty-nine victories in a row. A document from the SEC. And when you are winning that many games in a row over several seasons, each victory becomes more difficult and causes you to cry even more.

Two national titles in a row and very nearly reaching the finals for a third. If Georgia had had a chance to win a title after 1983, how many old fans from the 1980s and 1990s would have given their all?

Over the past three years, we’ve witnessed once-in-a-lifetime players like D’Andre Swift, Stetson Bennett, Jordan Davis, Brock Bowers, Jalen Carter, and Jalen Carter make incredible plays Saturday after Saturday.

Generational defenses have produced eye-popping stats before rebuilding their rosters and performing admirably the following season.

With all the talent lost to the NFL, graduation, the transfer portal, and injury, Georgia has shown the “Next Man Up” mentality better than any team in the country, and we were able to see it for ourselves.

Most importantly, we have witnessed a youthful, inexperienced team mature before our very eyes and accomplish feats that many others doubted they would be able to. The last time we witnessed that, Georgia went on to win a national championship the following year.

So, yes, endure the suffering. There is no other way to handle it. Release those feelings.

Scream, cry, devour a few Ben & Jerry’s containers—do whatever it takes to get through it. But let’s do it as a team, supporting one another as the Bulldog Nation does. We have this, regardless of what others may say about Georgia fans or this remarkably resilient Georgia football team.

Win or lose, whichever the opponent or circumstance…It’s great to be a Georgia Bulldog, I said!
